Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen said doubling down on the department's drone program helps make the city safer.

According to year-end data released by the city, Camden recorded 12 homicides in 2025, down from 17 in 2024 and 30 in 2023.

The drones will be deployed in response to calls, not regularly "up in the air watching people," an official said.
